Presidio Chapel
A romantic adobe chapel with timeless charm, the Chapel at El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park offers a reverent and atmospheric setting for life’s most meaningful celebrations.
Furnished as it would have been in the late 18th century, the chapel features whitewashed adobe walls and candle sconces. The altar glows with a spectacular reredos (altarpiece), altar frontal, and candlesticks, while period santos fill the niches. The interior walls and altar rail are painted in decorative motifs meant to resemble marble or tapestry, lending texture and depth to the space.
A small balcony overhangs the entrance—adding both charm and practical utility, perfect for housing musicians, a photographer, or even a discreet videographer. .
