Join our community of history enthusiasts and become part of a dedicated group of volunteer docents.

As a SBTHP docent you will:

​

• Lead tours of El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park and Casa de la Guerra

• Provide living history demonstrations

• Educate the public about the history of early California and the birthplace of the city of Santa Barbara

• Assist SBTHP staff in fulfilling their work to steward the past and present of the Presidio Neighborhood

 

If you:

​

• Enjoy working with young people, especially elementary school students

• Have a passion for history

• Can commit for at least two 1.5 hour shifts per month

• Want to make a difference

 

This opportunity is meant for you! Docent training is held each spring. All training sessions take place at the Presidio.
