About Una Noche de Estrellas

Casa de la Guerra – the adobe home constructed between 1818 and 1828 by José de la Guerra, the fifth comandante of the Presidio – was the social, political, and cultural center of Santa Barbara in the nineteenth century. José’s children and grandchildren occupied the building until 1943, when the Casa was fully incorporated into the El Paseo complex. In the 1990s, the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation (SBTHP) restored the building to its original appearance, and now operates the building as a historic house museum. At Una Noche de Estrellas, you can celebrate in the courtyard like the revelers of the past, with a modern twist. Enjoy a cocktail reception with Spanish tapas, a paella dinner under the stars, a silent auction, live entertainment, and more.
