About the Pearl Chase Endowment

Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation founder and community leader Pearl Chase.

The Pearl Chase Endowment was created to receive and encourage planned gifts and bequests, and to provide a permanent financial base for the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation's ongoing preservation and restoration work. In 2004, SBTHP established Los Distinguidos, a special recognition circle for those who contribute $10,000 or more in current or deferred gifts to SBTHP’s Pearl Chase Endowment.

There are many ways to join Los Distinguidos that can benefit you and your loved ones while providing meaningful support to SBTHP.

• Write a check or make a cash donation.
• Give appreciated stock, bonds or mutual fund shares.
• Make a pledge and spread your payments out over two to three tax years.
• Make a bequest in your will or living trust.
• Designate SBTHP as a Life Insurance beneficiary.
• Designate SBTHP as an IRA beneficiary.
• Purchase a gift annuity and receive lifetime payments of up to 11% return, depending on your age.
• Give your residence or farm, and retain the right to live there for the rest of your life.
• Donate property, or sell it at a bargain price, to SBTHP.
• Create a Charitable Remainder Trust.

When you inform us of your intent to include SBTHP in your will or estate plan, you will become a member of Los Distinguidos and be listed on the Los Distinguidos Honor Roll, unless you wish to remain anonymous. Members of Los Distinguidos are recognized each year at one of the SBTHP's annual events.
