The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization working to encourage the preservation of historic buildings and sites in the County of Santa Barbara. We actively seek both private and public partners to help us fulfill our mission. Community contributions enable the Trust to protect, preserve, restore, reconstruct, and interpret historic sites within Santa Barbara County. There are many ways that you can support the work of the Trust.

Unrestricted Gifts

Unrestricted Gifts are most valuable because they enable the Trust to apply the funds where they are most needed. Unrestricted gifts can be made through outright gifts of cash (check or credit card), appreciated securities, retirement assets and pledges over time. Non-cash gifts of real property, art work and other personal property are also welcome.

Donor Designated Gifts

Donor Designated Gifts can benefit one of the Trust's current projects such as the Northwest Corner, Resource Center, Casa de la Guerra or Santa Inés Mills - a particular program such as Early California Days, Living History Days or Dia de los Muertos - or a specific department: curatorial, education, archaeology or research.

Memorial & Honorary Gifts

Memorial & Honorary Gifts provide a lasting tribute to a friend or loved one. An honorary gift recognizes a special person for their anniversary, birthday or a job well done. The Trust will send an acknowledgement to the families of those memorialized or to the person honored without specifying the amount.

The Pearl Chase Endowment

The Pearl Chase Endowment has been created to receive and encourage planned gifts and bequests, and to provide a permanent financial base for the Trust's ongoing preservation and restoration work.

Trust donations help support not only the museum but research, publications, speaker forums, educational programs, and special events.

Charitable gifts can take many forms. All gifts, of any size, are tax deductible, to the extent allowed by law, for donors who itemize deductions.
